Biography
Since joining Rochon Genova in 2002, Annelis Thorsen-Cavers’ focus has been principally on class action litigation, particularly pharmaceutical and medical device cases. She graduated from the University of Waterloo (B.A., Social Development Studies, 1994) and the University of Windsor (LL.B., 1997). She was called to the Ontario Bar in 1999. While at Windsor, her team placed second in the Arnup Cup Trial Advocacy Moot Competition. She has been an integral team member in landmark cases including: Wilson v. Servier Canada Inc., Coleman v. Bayer (Baycol), Boulanger v. Johnson & Johnson (Prepulsid), Ledyit v. Bristol-Myers Squibb (Serzone), Bilodeau v. Maple Leaf Foods, Voutour v. Pfizer Canada, Mignacca v. Merck Frosst (Vioxx), Peter v. Medtronic, Robinson v. Medtronic, and Casseres v. Takeda Pharmaceutical.
