Biography
Vanessa Mensink is an associate in the Civil Sexual Abuse/Assault group at Rochon Genova. She approaches her work with a trauma-informed perspective and is dedicated to helping survivors navigate the civil court process. Prior experience includes litigation matters spanning institutional sexual abuse, human rights matters, bankruptcies and insolvencies, commercial disputes and class actions. She has advocated before administrative tribunals, Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and Supreme Court of British Columbia. She earned her JD from the Peter A. Allard School of Law, University of British Columbia (2017), was called to the Bar in British Columbia (2018) and Ontario (2022). Before law school, she worked as a victim support worker for almost 6 years, assisting sexual violence survivors through the criminal court system.
